Coverage beyond the Marketplace

Coverage beyond the Marketplace

Coverage that works when the Marketplace doesn't

Flexible options for every situation

Not everyone fits neatly into an ACA plan. Maybe you missed Open Enrollment, don't qualify for subsidies, or just want something simpler and more affordable. That's where our private insurance products come in. From short-term medical to health sharing plans, these options give you real protection, year-round enrollment, and premiums that often come in well below Marketplace pricing. We'll help you understand what each plan covers, what it doesn't, and which one actually fits your life.

Limited Medical Fixed Indemnity

Fixed cash benefits paid directly to you for specific medical events like doctor visits, hospital stays, and surgeries. Lower premiums and predictable payouts make this a smart standalone option or a complement to a major medical plan when you want to cover out-of-pocket gaps

Short Term Medical

Temporary coverage for life's in-between moments. Between jobs, waiting for Open Enrollment, or transitioning off another plan. Functions much like traditional major medical with deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums. Next-day coverage is available in many cases, with flexible terms from 30 days up to 12 months or more.

Health Sharing Plans

A cost-effective alternative to traditional insurance built on community support. Members contribute a monthly share that helps pay other members' eligible medical bills, and their own needs are covered in return. Ideal for healthy individuals and families who want lower rates, more provider flexibility, and a values-driven structure.

Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC)

Affordable plans that meet federal health coverage requirements through partnership associations. Members gain access to group health benefits and network discounts typically reserved for employer-sponsored plans. A practical choice for essential protection without the cost of full major medical insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often

Do I have to use the ACA Marketplace to get health insurance?

No. While the Marketplace is a great option for many people, we also offer private health insurance plans that aren't listed there. These can include short-term medical coverage, fixed indemnity plans, and health sharing programs. We'll walk you through both sides so you can pick what fits.

Can you help me if I missed Open Enrollment?

Yes. Many people qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to life events like marriage, a new baby, loss of prior coverage, or a move. And if you don't qualify, private insurance options are available year-round.

Which carriers do you work with?

We partner with a broad network of national and regional carriers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Oscar, Anthem, UnitedHealthcare, Molina, Providence, Health First, and many others

How much does it cost to work with New Era?

Nothing. Our services are free to you. We're compensated by the insurance carriers when we place a policy, so you get expert guidance at no extra cost.

Do you offer plans for small businesses?

Yes. We help small business owners compare group health plans and find coverage that keeps teams healthy without breaking the budget.

What other products do you offer besides major medical?

Plenty. We also offer Accident Medical Expense (AME), Critical Illness (CI), Dental and Vision, Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC), and other supplemental riders that strengthen any base plan
